When the spouses are my friends

As a wedding photographer I have photographed over 500 marriages in my career. Every wedding is something great and special. On my blog I often talked about the awesome couples I knew. Today I like talk about Valentina and Simone. They aren’t just another awesome couple, they are my friends. I met them at the wedding of Simone’s brother Alessandro. It was a wonderful wedding too.

After that I became their trusted photographer: I have taken pictures at the baptisms of their sons (Leone and Lavinia). When they decided the date of the wedding I was the first supplier they consulted. When they told me the news it was still a secret and they were looking for the location and all other suppliers. After few time they decided to do it in Venice. My pictures of weddings in Venice gave a contribute at this decision. I was (and I’m) very happy with this and with their choice. I know how magical a wedding can be in Venice.

But let’s go at the wedding day. I reached Valentina at the Hilton Hotel Molino Stucky, in her room where she was getting ready. I can’t explain my emotions, she is a friend and I worked with a different mood as usual. I want to talk about emotions and not about the chronicle of this wedding. During the ceremony in Redentore’s Church I felt a big empathy with them and their relatives. After ceremony Valentina and Simone have came with me and my friend/colleague Lucio Censi around Venice on a wooden water-taxi. That was a great moment, they have been relaxed and happy, we shot very great pictures. Their happiness with Venice as a frame gave us the perfect situation.

All the guests have appreciated the reception in the magical Cipriani’s Granai and me too. I love this location for the wonderful view on San Mark’s Basin, the brick made building and the flower decorations by “Centro Fiori”, everything were terrific. The couple have received all of their almost 200 guests with care, they are a couple with a very big heart. Their Wedding in Venice was magic like they dreamed and deserved.
